A New Start for Us

Greetings,

I am in immediate need of your assistance.  I am a single mother of a 14 year old young man and we have been through a lot.  My son and I have lived in shelters in order to be safe due to the very unhealthly relationship I was in.  I am currently living with a family member and getting my life back on track.  This is truly a new start for us as I have started my own home business and contracted with several companies to maintain and sustain my family.  I am grateful that my family member is allowing us to stay with them but it is very crowded "4 nephews", we desperately need a place of our own.  I am in need of $3,000 and I have tried many organizations in my state/county to help me but all funds are depleted.  This money will help us to move in a place of our own and for my son to attend a better/safer school "Septemer 5th school starts".  This is very important to me and I know by moving in a peaceful environment and attending a better/safer school system will save his life.   We have been through so much together and  I am striving to do everything I can to bring balance and order into our lives.  I will pay back the money but we need to be funded immediately.  Please help us make this transition in our lives!!!

Hi and thank you for viewing my listings. I am very grateful for the information that was posted. I have researched several agencies and Womanspace is the first place we went to, to seek safety. In my county you are only allowed to stay in the facility for 28 days"if it is not overcrowed" and then they place you in another shelter. You do your own research to finding a place to live and there is not much time to recover from what has happened to you and your family. They do not help you with moving expenses, they only refer you to other organizations/agencies. I am truly grateful that there was room for me and my son at the time to stay there. In order for a person to stay long term in the shelters/transitional housing so they can have more time to find a new home, is if you apply for and have been approved for public assistance. You can apply for assistance but does not always mean you will be approved, due to income limits, unemployment benefits, etc. As far as Catholic Charities, UPI, Crisis Ministries, HomeFront and Mount Carmel Guild, I have been told that all funds are depleted or they did not receive funding at all. Most of representatives of these organizations have told me to call back in October to see if they have funding because they do not get much in my area. Mercer County Board of Social Services will only help you with moving expenses if you are on public assistance. Marlene, I will keep seeking and will not give up. Thank you for the encourgagement. I will keep reaffirming that a way is being created and will manifest in our lives. Jewel
